The potato market can be competitive with traditional items and it makes it difficult to break through into new markets or retailers. Real opportunities exist when suppliers can explore value-added products that can be used to drive interest and new sales in the potato category. We facilitated with concept and development, as well as branding of two separate value-added concepts. The first concept included a sauce packet with the potatoes. Consumer research showed that consumers considered a liquid sauce to be higher quality than traditional powder or season packets. The second concept took advantage of growing consumer trends for slow cooker meals. This value concept allowed for a make it and forget it concept.
